Bud light…

The annual Tulip festival in Ottawa -  I’m usually not that much interested in photographing flowers, except when as components or elements of more expansive landscape photography. The month of May sees thousands of visitors and locals scouring the parks as they take in the beauty of many coloured varieties of blooming tulips.    I took a brief very early morning drive to Major Hills Park to do my duty as a citizen of the National Capital Region and shoot some blooms. Well they weren’t really blooming due to it being 6:00am with an incessant  light rain but that’s it for my 2017 flower-specific arrangements. (I think)

The black and white image is from the rear of the art gallery overlooking the Ottawa river and  Gatineau,  just across the street from the park.  One day the steaming industrial complex next to the Museum of Civilization will thankfully be replaced by parkland or another cultural edifice. I guess the factory was there first.

I love early mornings like this. Just me, bathed in gentle rain and that soft saturated bud light that doesn’t come in a can.  A moment in time to myself…
